- Content audit and ranking monitoring at a level a general business system does not match

The gap: Analytics that label their own trust state (is this number current? is the source connected?)
Surfer reports on rankings and content performance accurately within its own scope. What it cannot do is tell you that your Search Console connection has been broken for three weeks, or that a drop is a collection failure rather than a ranking failure - because the systems producing your commercial numbers are outside it. When the join between content performance and revenue is a manual export, a stale source on either side goes unnoticed.

Partial. Content audit and ranking monitoring are advertised. Whether a metric labels its own freshness and source-connection state is not something the page addresses either way.

Nothing sells 'flags its own staleness' as an add-on. Honest note: Surfer's own content analytics go deeper than ours on the optimisation step. RSC Core ($45) + the Growth pack ($35) is $80 per user / month billed annually - $960 per user / year, one login.
Competitor prices are their own published list prices read on the date shown. RSC prices per user; several of these products price per account for a single user, so check the arithmetic at your own seat count.
Where RSC is behind Surfer, or has not built it yet
Every comparison page on this site carries this section. If we only ever listed our own advantages you would have no reason to believe the rest of the page.
- Surfer's AI-search tracking is more developed than RSC's. Ours is partly built - theirs is a shipping product with a plan attached to it. If AI-search tracking is the only thing you need, they currently do it better.
- Surfer's depth of content optimisation exceeds ours. We cover the pipeline end to end; they go deeper on the optimisation step itself.
- RSC is younger and pre-launch, and Surfer is an established product with a large customer base. Choosing us is a bet on a newer platform, and that is a real cost to weigh.
- RSC cannot yet send review requests, and our competitor-intelligence engine is partly built.
