HoneyBook, but with a read on the competition
Where HoneyBook stops, on the evidence of their own published pages.
First, what HoneyBook genuinely does well
- Genuinely fast to start - templates, proposals and payments work out of the box
- A clean, well-regarded client experience for proposals, contracts and payment
- Advertises its own AI and finance features (HoneyBook AI, HoneyBook Finance) as first-class parts of the product
- Strong scheduling and integrations for a product at this price point
Read on 2026-09-03. Reviewers are broadly positive and several say the product grew with their business; these are the recurring criticisms, not the average view.
The gap: Visibility-gap / competitor intelligence engine
Because HoneyBook's scope stops at your own client relationships, the entire outside world is out of frame. For a service business that competes on being findable, that is the half of the picture that decides growth: not how well you served the last twelve clients, but why the next twelve are calling someone else. HoneyBook is not built to answer that and does not claim to be. The practical effect is that your pipeline reporting is entirely retrospective - it can tell you conversion rates on enquiries that arrived, and nothing at all about the enquiries that never did, which is where the growth decisions actually live.
The evidence
Not advertised. No competitor-intelligence capability appears among their advertised categories. We mark this from what the vendor publishes. It is not advertised on their pricing or features page - which is evidence about their marketing, not proof the capability cannot exist somewhere in the product.

Partial Partial. Competitor observation and gap rows exist; the predictive expected-vs-observed engine is still in build (row 1129).
Verified in code 2026-09-03: SeoCompetitorObservation and the VISGAP rows; predictive engine queued. The arithmetic
The competitor-intelligence products that would cover this are largely quote-only, so there is no honest annual figure to quote. Honest note: RSC's predictive gap engine is partly built. RSC Core ($45) + the Growth pack ($35) is $80 per user / month billed annually - $960 per user / year, one login.
Competitor prices are their own published list prices read on the date shown. RSC prices per user; several of these products price per account for a single user, so check the arithmetic at your own seat count.
Where RSC is behind HoneyBook, or has not built it yet
Every comparison page on this site carries this section. If we only ever listed our own advantages you would have no reason to believe the rest of the page.
- HoneyBook is live, mature and used by a lot of businesses. RSC is younger and pre-launch - we are asking you to bet on a newer product.
- HoneyBook is faster to switch on than RSC. We cover more ground, and more ground takes longer to set up.
- RSC cannot yet send review requests - reputation monitoring is live, asking is not.
- Our AI-visibility and competitor-intelligence engines are partly built.
- Our vertical App Packs are not all shipped; therapy and legal are in build with design partners.

Claims about HoneyBook on this page were read from the sources linked beside each row on that date.
2 further capabilities we assessed are NOT shown on this page, because we could not attach a dated public source to them.
We would rather show you less than show you something we cannot evidence.
“Not advertised” means the capability does not appear on the vendor page we cite, on the date we cite it. That is evidence about what they publish — it is not proof the capability does not exist somewhere in their product.
